Selections from Brujeria

by David Estringel

Mis rodillas, pies,

labios, y pecho.

Santificado

por tu brujería.

Bendíceme…

con el quinto.

𝕾ó𝖑𝖔 𝖔𝖙𝖗𝖔 𝖉í𝖆 𝖘𝖎𝖓 𝖘𝖚 𝖌𝖗𝖆𝖛𝖊𝖉𝖆𝖉

Es el dia de la madre

sin pastel en la mesa,

no rosas en el florero.

Sola una foto

enmarcada

en plata pulida

de la asesina de dragones

quien podría derribar

la luna

y

triturar la leche de las perlas.

Cómo extraño tus encantos, tus hechizos,

tus obras secretas, iya mi!

Los sombras de rompe saraguey y asafoetida,

sangre y aliento.

El poder de su manos

y su gravedad.

𝖀𝖓𝖆 𝖈𝖆𝖗𝖌𝖆 𝖕𝖔𝖉𝖊𝖗𝖔𝖘𝖆

Fingers,

gingerly sifting

a través de ecos de lavanda,

alabar a los espiritus

de modest treasures

una carga podersosa.

Ribbon-tied letters.

A lock of hair atado con white satin.

Viejos dolares de plata.

Tarjetas de oracion a los santos (two for St. Jude).

Flores prensadas in paper envelopes.

A faded scapular.

Tijeras de hierro.

Waxed camelias.

Una chuparora seca.

and

the smell of her.

Aché.
